In January 2026, the cargo throughput of Beihai Port reached 4.5259 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 12.1 percent. Among them, the performance of foreign trade container business was particularly prominent, with the total import and export volume reaching 3554 million TEUs, a year-on-year surge of 62.89 percent. This is due to the continuous release of foreign trade container functions of berth 5 in Beimu operation area of Tieshan Port, the opening of new berths in Shitou port operation area and the further promotion of customs clearance facilitation reform. The strong start has laid a solid foundation for Beihai Port to realize the positioning of Beibu Gulf International Gateway Port and to help the construction of a new land-sea channel in the west.
